Premade Fans FAQ

What's the difference between YY fans and 3D fans?

YY Fans: 2 spikes per fan, split at the tip forming a Y shape. Light, natural volume. Faster to apply but less dense. Best for classic-to-volume transition clients.
3D Fans: 3-10 spikes per fan with a closed, pointed base. Fuller volume, more dramatic results. The industry standard for professional volume sets. We recommend stocking both — YY for natural looks, 3D for full volume.

How do premade fans save application time?

Hand-making volume fans during application adds 30-60 minutes to a full set. Premade fans eliminate fan-making time entirely — lash techs simply pick up and apply. A full volume set that takes 2.5 hours with hand-made fans can be completed in 1-1.5 hours with premade fans. This means more clients per day and higher salon revenue.

What base type should I choose — flat or pointed?

Flat base: Larger surface area for adhesive bonding. Better retention (4-6 weeks). Preferred for humid climates and oily-lid clients. Slightly heavier.
Pointed base: Easier fan pickup from tray. Lighter feel on natural lashes. Preferred for fine/thin natural lashes. Most popular in Asian markets.

Are premade fans suitable for classic lash training?

We recommend premade fans for lash techs who have completed basic classic training and want to offer volume services without the steep learning curve of hand-made fans. They're also excellent for experienced techs who want to offer a lower-priced "express volume" service. For complete beginners, we suggest starting with classic individual lashes or cluster lashes.
